Just shy of 2 months for the card to arrive. I suppose the card means fuck all, and they just check on the big database if they know who you are when you're dead.

I'm a bit disappointed, it's a flimsy bit of shit. I wanted something proper sturdy. Something I could use to slice through flesh to get to the delicious treat of organs inside. You know, in an emergency.

Mine arrived this week as well.  What happens if you're abroad and something happens to you would the donor card still come into play or is it a UK based jurisdiction scheme?

Seems a bit of a waste if something happened on holiday and they could use your bits to save a life but because you’re abroad it’s a no go.

I'm sure i heard they were changing the donor scheme from "opt-in" to "opt-out"? Regardless, i'm signed up.

Need to get donating blood as well, soemthing i've been meaning to do for ages and keep forgetting

I used to give blood a fair bit, but haven't since I moved back to Swindon. County Ground is a bit of a walk and I'm lazy. I think they used to do it at the Moose Hall or whatever it's called at the top of Eastcott hill. Haven't seen it for a while though.
