Yep, it's been fairly slow recently for me too.....I believe they're updating the service...I tend to use Internet Explorer anyway, although i can access this site easy enough through AOL.

In the early days of dial up they used to block all the porn sites, I dumped them after about 15 mins surfing

I used to sign up for their 1 month free trial, then just cancel my bank card they held on file. So it comes to the end of the month, they email me and say, please send us a new card. I ignore them. Job done.

This was back in the dark ages of dial up though, and AOL were reasonably quick, but made me want to commit murder with their invasive fat bloatware. One day some call centre candy called me and said, we don't want you to leave, what can we do to keep you? I thought hold on, i haven't paid you a penny yet. So the bird says, we can give you 3 months more for free to see if you like the service? I said okay thanks.

So three months later, i have a cancelled card again. Some other person phones me, says we don't want to lose you as a customer, what can we do...

9 months free connection later, i was sick of them, so just told them i didn't like their service/browser/company/pricing and refused whatever stupid offer they had at that time.

They saved me a mint. Can't imagine how i made them a single penny other than whoring my details out to their fellow bloodsuckers.
