Peope have been doing this for years, car's usually end up parking at Charlie Brown (or what was) and they seem to arrive to clamp them, as said though it is only football days as they know very well they are likely to catch people.

But surely though the trick is park there and rip down the signs and then when there is no sign the police can surely get involved and they cannot clamp you as there isn't any signs telling you  Soapy Tit Wank

They used to, many moons ago.

On the clamping, I used to park there and didn't notice any signs. Are they new?

Also where does the public road end and the private road begin?

Lastly the road by my house is privately maintained. Can I invite friends round and then clamp their cars?

All that said, clampers are a bit scum of the earth people in a situation like this.  Even if they are within their rights.

There is signage, it's [plastered all over the old Charlie Browns car park as well.  If you take the risk you accept the consequences.  I parked right next to the ground on Saturday in a 2 hour parking spot, knowing I'd actually be about 2hrs 30mins.  If I got a ticket then it would have been my own fault.

Sonic, walking can lead to blisters.

I notice the traffic wardens have been going round the side streets off Manchester road on Saturday afternoons more now anyway

A whole row of cars had tickets Saturday

The small bays at the end of each road are normally the only free spaces in the streets as the rest is permit parking - which I found out after I got a ticket recently

Since Wickes has moved out of there, those signs about parking soon went up.

For clampers, it's a licence to print money, but if there are signs up, there is no come back.

i reckon there is...  buy a couple of these

http://www.workproductsdirect.com/shop/shop.php?c1=Wheel%20Clamps&c2=Wheel%20Clamps&gclid=CPK23cLLspECFQqHMAodnxisNw

and head over to the clamping company offices one evening... stick them on their vans, or the manager's jag and chuck the keys down the drain.

or alternatively, buy 4 and put them on when you park so no one else can add one

They already have. Was running late for a change on Saturday and called in at Tescos to buy some food, I decided are park there and just cut through, only to find the gates to the CG are now locked. Didn't matter though, as i wanted to park at the ground anyway.
