I don't mean a bad headache but serious migraine, that is crippling.
I don't have it myself but mt misses had quite a bad attack last night and it has just been diagnosed. From what I can gather from google their is no real treatment for it, although coffee helps.
Doe's anybody else on here suffer from migraine that might be able to offer some tips.
Cheers.

i suffer from them and nothing helps, i just dose myself up on co-codamol and ibuprofen. otherwise lying down in a darkened room.
a lot of the over the counter stuff like migraleve only contain anti-nausea drugs in addition to your run of the mill painkillers, so generally aren't worth trying IMO

I have sympathy for anybody who suffers actually, afetr seeing my misses with it last night it is clearly extremely painful and no laughing matter.
SY, do you suffer from this "Aura" thingy as well: bad stomach, mis-conception of shape and size, distorted lines ect?

bangkok red,
a friend of mine gets a similar problem when he eats chinese food.
apparently it's the msg, and too much of it sets him off.
it's bloody funny when it happens because he can't see anything and has to be carried about.

I get them now and again, used to get them frequently but not so much these days. Only thing that really worked with me was to sleep them off and to drink lots of water. I also had some medicine called Sanomigrannelixa (something like that) but it made very tired.

You have been more than helpful Gent's and Ladies,
Although I now realise that there is no cure/treatment for it, at least I have a better understanding of what is going on.

If the pain is on one side of the head you should lie with that side of your head face down on a pillow and that will help ask your docotr for the tablets that disslove under your tougne they work wonders also they have certain triggers mine is choclate if i eat choclate i get a migrain i also found that running your head under a cold tap helpd of a really cold press ice cubes wrapped in a tea towel.
one thing you should never do isto drop an e that just makes your head exploxed
