The old railway track from old town, down towards the canals is good for wildlife. Mountain biking is/was a hobby of mine and I have seen all sorts of wildlife down there, a badger included. I remember it well cos it turned a corner and there it was, in broad daylight looking very very pissed off and so I found another route (The badger won).

I also remember a beeb documentary yonks ago about scorpions in the south of england, some chap went up to a brick wall with a flourescent light and there was loads of them, and apparently they fed of woodlouse.

I also an Owl in Lawn woods once, that was cool.

 Couple of summers back, I was a stumbling down Marlborough Road at 4 or 5 in the morning, after a misssion in Covingham,  when I saw an owl on the trees at Bruddel Grove.   It was well excited hooting till its heart was content. I guess the Lawns is good owl country.

I wonder if that was an offspring of the owl that used to hoot all night long when I lived in that neck of the woods?

Wasn't so long ago that I had a 10ft Boa crossing my street, it was lucky that I didn'r run it over. He took AGES ta cross, so long that a bit of a traffic problem developed.

I also an Owl in Lawn woods once, that was cool.

   Earlier this evening, I saw an owl as I walked through the Town Gardens.

   Wasn't hooting or owt, but making a distinctive  clicking sort of sound, this alerted me and I could make out its shape up in the tree,  there was a bit of moonlight to help.

i see loads of stuff when out night driving.loads down the a420.
owls,deer,badgers,foxes,bats etc .and have ran enough of the fucking things over down the years.(all accidently of course)last time i splatted a fox cub and couldn't sleep for a couple of nights

where the hell is that? i never see fuck all on the a420, there used to be some deer in a field next to the buckland service station but i think they've all appeared dead on the road.

i remember going to alton towers at school on a coach when it hit a deer. that was horrific.

last night i saw a barn owl sat on a road sign near tubney. and individual deer grazing along the road side from the range rover place to near the snooty fox pub.
there were at least three deer dead by the road side too

True story:

I was watching the Thai news one night, and one article was about a whole new species of animal that had been discovered out in the sticks somewhere. The report went onto say that this animal had a fierce tempermant and voracious appetite but what what it, it is sort of half pig, half dog half something else.

Then they showed video footage of this strange new creature which was absolutely freaking out in a cage and all of the Thai's around where astounded: "What is it, what is it?"

They called me over and asked "What the fuck is that, have you ever seen anything like that before?"

And I replied: "Of course I fucking well have, It's a fucking Badger innit!"

I think that I felt the entire Nation's excitement vanish with those very words.

Deers are crazy. They ran into my car, whilst I was driving, and it caused over a grands worth of damage. And this was in a busy part of swindon!
