I've looked on the dvla website and I'm a bit confused...

When you need to change the address on your driving license do you need to send a photo, or does the card/paper part suffice?

With mine I just filled a form in, didn't send anything back to them, and mine came through pretty quickly.

I did it about 6 months ago, had to send both parts because they've both got your address on.

If you already have the photocard bit then just send that and the paper section back with the D1 application form, no photo required.

If you only have just the old paper license then you'll need to send a passport type photo as well.

You can actually be penalised if the address isn't current and they find out.

Although from Bushey's experience looks like they're not too diligent about it. Apparently if your mail will be forwarded its probably ok, if risky.

Best not to take the chance though.
