There's quite a few independant photographers out there with their own camera equipment and they take decent pics it saves going to a shop....unless your woman wants all that make over type thing before hand as well that women seem to enjoy.
If you do go to a shop do not go to Debenhams as their prices are a rip off and their pics are not fantastic.
There's an independant shop in the Brunel that took over from Olan Mills who went bust if you do want a shop
I'm with you though..pics' in the pub with beer in hand is good enough
