Good enough FGR would be good due to them being reasonably close and making it a localish derby for them

Horrid memories of the last time we went there. Maybe so but would be good to rekindle the rivalry. Was gutted we were the ball after soapy tit wank

Is a home draw, so no long trips to disturb our league season plus it is against a team we should beat, so all in all not a bad outcome

how disappointing.
we'll have to hope they beat southend and we win ours, and then that we get drawn together in the 3rd round instead now.

Good enough FGR would be good due to them being reasonably close and making it a localish derby for them FGR is actually exactly the same distance from Swindon as Poxford is to Swindon and about 5 miles or so closer than Bristol so yes it is a very local derby!

I'm thinking if FGR win their replay we might be the live TV game for the second round.

we've been to Aberdeen, we hate the Hibs, they make us spew up, so make some noise, the gorgie boys, for Hearts in Europe.

Interestingly I did some route checking out of curiousity checking distances from the County Ground to our closest rivals right down to the Blue Square Southern Division.
These are all the distances to teams which are within 45 miles of Swindons County Ground
Bristol City - 42.52 miles Reading - 40.76 miles Bristol Rovers - 39.5 miles Salisbury - 38.42 miles Bath City - 34.85 miles Poxford - 32.92 miles Forest Green - 27.44 miles
I was actually very surprised by that, I have never ever thought of FGR as being our closest rival geographically

Cheltenham not on that list either they are 2nd closest i think. It's interesting to see 3 conference teams actually closer in terms of geography than 3 of our rivals in the form of the Bristol teams and Reading.

We may or may not progress, but a home draw against a team we can beat is as good as you can hope for.

I'm thinking if FGR win their replay we might be the live TV game for the second round. Doubtful at home. They usually pick the minnows at home against the league teams. More likely shock factor you see. Hereford v Leeds and Torquay v Yeovil case in point this round. I suspect the games at Harrogate and Horsham will get picked.

Good draw. We should beat either of those two at home, then (Fingers crossed) we'll get a high profile match for the 3rd round.
We aint gonna win it, so getting some big money against a top Premiership side is what we should be looking at.........................
