Apparantly this is the bloke who we are in negotiations with in regards to the take over . He is the bloke who co founded Betfair but i think he sold it last year.

Worth around £200m according to the richlist.

You lot probably heard this anyway just have not seen it posted anywhere

Isn't he living in Australia?  He was the one that tied up with Packer (who was rumoured a number of months back) to get Betfair into Australian markets I think.

there we go, the original rumour.

So, Aspers is a UK based Casino/leisure complex owner and is part funded by Packer who in turn is a 50/50 partner with Betfair in Australia who were co founded by Edward Wray who also lives in Australia and someone once started an "he's Australian" rumour about the original proposed investor.

I clearly went the wrong way down the 6 degrees of seperation route

Wray is still non exec chairman of Betfair - so that is where the Betfair link comes in
