Hard to do templates when its all your own work. Just do it in this order.

Name
Address
Status/age
Quals/Certs/Courses etc
Major skills/profile
Current employment
Past emplyment (going back at least 5 years) (summary)

Oh and keep it to two pages max

Ash I work in recruitment and this is the one we send out to them:
Your CV is a very important document; you need to spend some time getting it right so please give us as much information as possible and make sure it is accurate and truthful.
You are dealing with your future happiness - that next step up the career ladder, a better position, more money, new challenges, etc.  Your CV has to be just that little bit special to stand out against other applicants.  We can help you by carefully modifying your CV to our clients requirement and highlighting your good points and achievements.  Once you have left the interview it will continue to work in your favour, as the interviewer will probably reread it before making a decision, either on who should be invited to the second interview stage or who will be offered the new position.

Fuck me, that'd be one long CV.

IMO, you don't want to put too much on your CV. It should just be a snapshot of who you are. They don't want your life story.

I've been told more than two pages and some employers will just put it straight in the bin.

Bit of a double edged sword really you have to find the right balance between the two as having too much or too little can take you out of the equation for a job straight away.

Personally a full 2 pages is about what I would recommend and bullet point all your responsibilities next to your jobs.  Put in as much detail as you can to try and impress them, it has to be as punchy as possible.
