I know what you're saying, but i think you'll soon get over it.  I've pretty much been seeing every game so far this season as our last....it now looks like last night was it, which is typical.

TBF to Bob Holt he did state at an AGM about three years ago, that without a new ground the CVA could not be paid so the club may have to fold....at least he was honest, about it.

Swindon is always held up by statisticians, as just about the average town in England....its my belief that there will be a big shake out of clubs in the next few years...lower league football is not sustainable in its present form.

Anyone know how to get in touch or should I leave this to someone else? Even if a former player can just do a sound bite for the tv or something when its promoted or in the paper.

To me its about trying to raise the profile and attract older fans who may not particularly be part of the internet generation!

are you saying that, for example, by john trollope joining the protest, this will encourage more folk to join in? and in particular, the kinda 50+ generation? coz that aint happenin imho-that generation have got better things to do with their time like sitting in the savoy reading paper.

i'm all for fans protesting, but lets be realistic and not get carried away-maybe we can get mark lamar, billie piper, trevor cleaver, martin from 'game on' to join in as well?! maybe we can convert jonathan wilkes into a swindon fan (as his mrs is from here in case you didn't know Wink ) which ultimately might lead to robbie williams saving our club if he decides he's had enough of supporting vale  Fishing.

....and besides all that, john trollope was shit on by swindon iirc.

I'm over 50 and a bit on top, I attended the protests this Tuesday and will be there for next protests as well so you are not right to generalise Jimbob. Some of us old buggers still have a bit of get up and go.

Regarding Kamara I'm pretty sure he would help, even if it just bringing it into conversation whilst they are sit around chatting for the Goals on Sunday boredom.

i take your point on board dell boy-sorry, no offence intended.

the point i was trying to make was that i don't think an ex-player (no matter who it is) is going to influence the 'slightly older' generation into protesting. i.e. they're gonna protest because they want to, not because we've got the backing of an ex-player....if you catch me drift  :?

No offense to the trust or RALP or anything BUT to have players etc coming out It keeps it in the media and at the forefront. I think it just keeps the protests etc in the spotlight as well because there has been a lot of good times at the club pior to the last 10 years or os and say someone like trollope who still holds the record for most league appearances for one team and Rogers for example shows what the club means not only to fans and the town but to the players. Its another dimension. No way I expect them to actively join protests ofcourse not but its about saying what the club means to them,
