Great news IMO.

The thought of GB not holding a Grand Prix seemed ridiculous.  Least with the new developments GB can stay on the map as one of the circuits in the long run.

Only problem is that it's opening up an already massive void between Silverstone and, say Donington and Brands Hatch. Would be nice to have more than one circuit that was capable of holding a GP, especially as the races at Silverstone are never that good anyway.

They are always threatening to take GP away esp Silverstone and other European countries for example France, in favour of great bribes for the FIA from the Far Eastern countries.
In my opinion F1 came from Europe and should stay here

I believe that every nationality of racing driver should have a circuit in his own country and thats how it should always be.

Poor news - reading into the plans they are all upgrades to Gold Ticket areas and the paddock and pits.
So once again the general public will be stood on a gravel bank at Vale or a dusty hill at Club. These are the areas that make Silverstone look second hand, they should be turned into concrete steps like at Copse corner, which enable them to fit more people with folding chairs in, allowing them to sell more tickets.

That said the last lot of upgrades to all the toilet facilities were superb and quadrupled the amount of loo space...

what I meant is that if the powers that be had their way in F1 every race would be in the Far East and that isn't right

What you actually meant is that is somebody/government/organisation offers to throw money at Bernie Ecclestone for the privilege of holding a GP, they'll get it at the expense of traditional venues like Silverstone, Spa Francorchamps, Monza etc.

Bernie Ecclestone is a Grade A cunt IMO. Although he's not as high on my hate list as certain STFC Board Members...

What if they had 22 drivers all of different nationalities?!  22 races would be very difficult to fit into the calender...

I think a British GP is a must simply because of the fan base here.  The actual Silverstone circuit for me needs livening up (maybe a loop-the-loop or something?!) though it is a track which makes for some good overtaking...  I'm just glad Magny Cours won't be with us next year, that circuit bores the trousers off me.

The biggest travesty was when they took Spa off the calender....  Thank God it's back!   Cheesy

Indeed! Watching an F1 car tackle Eau Rouge at max chat is one awesome sight. I remember watching crap Jacques Villeneuve wipe out big time there in '98 - an accident he latter described as the 'best he'd ever had'. Respect, you fucking nutcase!

I knew someone would mention that but it always follows suit that there are always more than one nationality!

That's ruined my afternoon  Sad

Eau Rouge is mental....  Anyone remember that wet race at Spa a few years ago with a 16 car pile-up at the start?  Pussies red-flagged the race....
