You're living some time in the future and have a robot friend who you've loved for years and years. He's been a good companion throughout the good times and the bad times, for both of you. Quite often they intertwine. You feel worse when your robots doing bad and you freel better when he's doing good.

Unfortunately your robot has been struck with cybernetic brain disease for nearly a decade. He's not the fun robot you used to remember and things have been getting steadily worse, you feel like you no longer have the connection which used to tie you together

Of course you still love your robot, and you've been trying to bring him back with miracle style cures over the duration of his illness, the last attempt was the best and seemed to revive him towards his former self, but he soon started the relapse into a shadowy stranger

There's also a high risk cure available. You can starve the cybernetic brain disease out of your robot by refusing to feed him. Which unfortunately comes with the risk of his death, but it's that or go for another miracle cure. Maybe this one will work.

Which robot option would you go for?

Shoot him and put him out of his misery.

Meh, it's a robot. Get a new one.

Unless it's Bender, then you obviously just need to feed it more beer.

I'd probably do the whole starving thing. It'll be a pretty harsh act, but the cybernetic brain disease can't be much fun for my robotic pal either, so it'll kinda be like a last roll of the dice in a bid to save the robot.

I could even give up food myself in a bid to lend moral support. I'd have to live off a diet of cider though, but I'd do it on the sly so my robot pal would never know. It'll also numb the pain should the worst ever happen.

Quite sad that. Is there not a robot doctor that could help?

I think that this thread might have gone over peoples heads a bit (maybe apart from SiPie). Either that or it's so blindingly obvious that you are taking the piss. :scribe:

I thought it was pretty inventive of you Ben, I'm surprised nobody else really made an effort. Mind you I was bored at work.

What would you do Ben?

I'd starve him whilst hoping the miracle cure worked. And where the fuck did that writing  smilie thing come from. I must have accidentally clicked.

I thought my little robot piece was pretty well written considering I don't remember writing it.
