Went to see them at Benicassim at the weekend, they were really good if a bit unadventurous. Not sure if they're worth 100squid though

Being such a large venue, you'll pick tickets up for a few quid either side of face value no problem.
What was Benicassim like, pvsmark?

I loved Benicassim 4 years ago - more an more brits go every year I believe - very well organised - clean toilets nice showers and a limited numebr of excellent bands - IIRC there was only really a choice of 2 stages so you ahev to be pretty sure the lineup is good before you go - cos once you leave the main arenas it's mostly random spanish music.

What was Benicassim like, pvsmark? Benicassim was amazing, definately a worthy alternative to UK festivals. Lots of sun, the camp site i stayed at (bonnet) was rather shit though there were turds in the showers a few times. If anyone is planning to go next year i recommend getting transport before hand as it is a bit manic. There were definately more brits than spanish this year.

got back from benicassim the other week. was a bit of a nightmare with the heat/hangover/drugs combination. lost my wallet on the first night whilst the girlfriend was being sick, i think i gypsy ran off with it.
the town itself is a shithole, and there are virtually no good eateries to refuel from. organisation of the whole thing was a complete mess with campsites jam packed, gigantic bus queues, quite expensive. the showers were about the only good thing, lots of them and clean.
i hear the one pvsmark stayed at (bono, as people called it) was much better and shadier than ours which was right next to the festival. no turds in the showers at ours, only lovely wabs and naked ladies. the heat at the campsite was unbearable, its horrible to wake up at 10am drenched in sweat having only slept for a couple of hours. then facing a monster walk to town to find some shade for some reasonable kip.
lebowski is not too far wrong, everyone there looked rich and indie types for the nu rave wank. its like reading in that you have to enter the music part separate to the campsites, and the music bit is half concrete half grass.
if you ever go dont camp its far too hot, get an apartment or hotel. 65% of tickets were sold to the english so its basically a brit invasion. dance tents were full of sketchy looking spaniards though, i nearly clocked one who stroked my girlfriends hair, the freak.
i saw:
iggy pop (stage invasion ala glastonbury repeated) brazilian girls jo jo de freq (darn good electro) klaxons (shit) jamie t arctic monkeys amy winehouse clap your hands say yeah hives kings of leon (AMAZING)
could also hear muse from my tent, they drowned out the usually loud dance tent, must have been SO loud anywhere near the stage
bloody missed antony and the johnsons though, would have loved to have seen him.
i wouldn't do it again. not my type of lineup, too expensive and the heat ridiculous. was mostly fun though.

Crikcey from what OF says it sounds likes its changed. The lineup has always been very important (more than other festivals) due to the lack fo depth, but now there sounds like way too many Brits go, and the price must have gone up, cos it was well under £100 for the festival and 8 days camping before.
