Oooohhh, truly the asshole of Britain then. My house is somewhere in the rectal passage between Bedford and Cambridge. In short, nothing really happens there but a load of shit passes through. My mate is the sports reporter for the Cambridge Evening News. Not sure that added any to the conversation but thought I'd drop it in. Really? He must be well busy reporting on punting on the Cam and croquet on the lawns of Trinity College :? That added little as well tbh. I'm upping my bullshit quota.

Suffolk and rural Essex are actually a very nice area to live.
Agreed Southend, Colchester and Chelmsford are shit holes but what i saw of rural Essex and Suffolk as a trucker's mate when i was a lad was nice. i used to live in essex, burnham on crouch by the sea, nice place

The centre of Colchester's not too bad though, it's got a castle and everything: http://p.vtourist.com/3037785-Colchester_Castle-Colchester.jpgRural Essex and Suffolk are top notch as well. This place is only just up the road from me. It's not changed much: http://www.thelilypad.co.uk/graphics/haywain.jpg

Ah, Constable's Haywain, one of these shores most famous works. Down by Flatford Mill, it really hasn;t changed a bit down there at all. Quite a contrast from the Essex slums.
