What's wrong with another Type R?  I'm looking at the Honda for my next car (not the Type R, standard one)....

For me, it'd have to be the Focus ST (the Mondeo STs I used to drive made my balls tingle) though the image is perhaps a bit chavvy...

New Type R is a nice car but slower than the old one marginally.

It has the same engine as mine with the same power but more weight.

Focus ST is a Rooney mobile.

Agreed Magic.

The Audi just nudges the Golf on prestige though.

But the Golf sounds sublime with a growling V6 and lovelly paddle shift DSG gearbox.

The S3 is manual only.

i prefer maunal to the stupid flappy paddle gear box.

makes you feel like your actually driving the car.

i think your hinting towards an S3 and i wouldn't blame you Cool

You should drive a Golf R32 with DSG mate. I love manuals but DSG is amazing. It's not like the old paddle boxes, shifts so smoothly and quick.

Also, it sprints to 60 mph quicker with DSG.

Is the DSG the same as on the Audi TT 3.2?

I'd have the Golf out of the two personally - the Audi is awesome inside and to drive, but I always think they look chubby....  I used to love driving Audi's and the build quality is second to none.  It's an awesome problem to have!

is the DSG the gearbox which has affectivly selected your next gear for you before you shift up or down? making the transition a lot smoother and faster?

DSG stands for Direct Shift Gearbox and yes Walrus it is the same as the Audi S Tronic box.

It has 2 rather than 1 clutch plates by simply flicking a paddle the cogs swap instantly and smoothly.

I'd love an S3. Unfortunately, i can't afford one, or get insured on one.  I'd love an A3 for now though, but there are so many models i don't know where to start!
