This may well have been done before but i can't find it! Anyway, what ws the first album you ever got! Either bought for you or by yourself! Mine is "A Kind Of Magic" by Queen! I am listening to it now and it still bloody brilliant!" I remember sitting in the old Swiss Chalet (back of Virgin, now Boswells i belive) and my dad gave me a bag with the Vinyl record in, I was so happy!  Memories......

Rubber Soul......The Beatles, my sister had bought a couple of the earlier ones, then she 's leaving home bye bye.....so I bought this one......I once had a girl or should I say she once had me....isn't it good Norweigan wood. And WTF was a sitar.

The first 'LP' (Albums were called LP's then) I owned must have been one of those K-Tel or Ronco compilations that they did in the 70's. It would have had a Slade track on it, Blockbuster by the Sweet, something by Chicory Tip and no doubt some Bowie track or other.
The first album I bought would have been either:
'Sound Affects' by The Jam or 'Go For It' by Stiff Little Fingers
I can't believe it's 25 years ago this week (March 22nd) that Going Underground went straight in at number 1.
Oh dear.

It's a political term about Conservatism and Socialism i beleive? Reg could confirm this i am sure but i remember doing something about this during a course i did! Isn't education wonderful....yep it was a term for the pragmatic consensus politics of the late 50's early 60's, which came about I suppose after the Suez debacle. So called because it joined the names of RA (Rab) Butler a progressive Tory on social policy and Hugh Gaitskell the Labour leader until he died to be succeeded by Harold Wilson....hence Butskellism (or some such spelling)
