Bit of a warning lads ..DO NOT use Penton in Salisbury for any work.I was told by this garage that the cam belt on my jeep needed changing and they quoted me £265.00,being tight i checked with the local 4x4 garage and they informed me that i dont have a cam belt on my jeep its a chain! so i checked with another Suzuki dealer and they confirmed this.I have now reported Penton to trading standards and spent the money that i saved on a new set of golf clubs do not let my other half know!

Fred, can you not just get your head skimmed or buy a reconditioned one?
My sister used a garage over Rushy Platt when her head gasket went, cost her about £250 with skimming and fitting.

Is £1500 parts and labour?
If you have the Chassis and Engine number handy I can make a call and see if I can get the parts any cheaper (Ive worked in most Parts places in town)Though to be honest its still going to be somewhere near that id expect.

MG ZT You can probably pick up a fairly new one of those Rovers for less than £1,500

Buy a scooter. Go on holiday. Or even better, and probably ideal for Fred, a motor home
