Depends on what you term disaster.....I'd have thought 4 thousand to see a veteran performer shake his expansive booty....to be reasonable.

Depends on how many are being budgetted for and if the powers that be realise you have to pay VAT on the tickets.

I wonder what they have set the capacity at?  Does anyone know?  Whatever you think of EJ, he is such an institution I would have thought he would be guaranteed full houses wherever he goes.  You' re going to get people coming from all over Europe, if not the world I would have thought.  As an aside, I would imagine the Town's hotels and catering related businesses will have something of a field day as well (not that we're supposed to care about that of course).

I can't see how this can be a bad thing oh great prophet of doom and gloom!

Yeah, times have changed Reg, there are people who'd travel along way to see Elton John, this won't just be a townie event, it'll be a south west event.  Not everyone in Reading or Bornmuff we'll get tickets for their local event, so they'd have to travel to another location.  This will be a sell out. That's my prediction anyway.

I don't think my posting is one of doom and gloom, but rather pointing out that it might be unreasonable to expect this show to pull in more than a few thousand.

If there was a Concert Hall which held 4000, then it would doubtless be sold out and the whole thing hailed as a great success....a football ground is much larger.....

The club wants more than 20,000 to attend the concert.

Like my dad who when I told him I was going to London for a meeting on May 14 said  "Oh, that's before the election isn't it?"  "Yes" I said.  "that'll be around the time the bomb will go off".  "Oooooooooooookay"
