Global warming........the Guardian had an interesting picture this week of allegedly Kilimanjaro, without snow, which was claimed to show the extent of global warming, because its been snow covered for 11,000 years. It was in fact Mount Meru in Tanzania an occasionally active volcano http://www.roysafaris.com/images/meru_ash_large.jpg When I read the original article I thought that's us fucked .....media eh

I'd imagine you can do a radioactive hydrogen half life measurement, the rate of decay of which tells you the year of the precipitation + or - a bit.

I reckon Global warming is a load of bollocks anyway. David Bellamy says so and he knows about this kind of thing. http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=56&ItemID=6306Most of the theories are largely guesswork. Carbon dioxide emissions may not even affect temperature at all. I'm not saying we should go around polluting stuff as there are plenty of other reasons not to do that but most global warming stories are media scaremongering that they bring out on slow news days.
