Quote from: "Fred Elliot"
We were indeed ................ and here we are still supporting the team we have since we were lads.

What you are saying Sonic is that we shouldn't be.

What is our position in the league based on ?

Truthful honest accounting ?, excellent PR ?, strong ties with the local community ?, relationships with the local government?

Like I said........................there but for the grace of god go I

The difference being that Boston's fans have known the club was guilty but equally their have not been punished - yet it doesn't bother them.

We were guilty, the owners at the time were condemned and more or less all forced out and we were harshly punished. We suffered.

Boston fans haven't...now they will. Call it karma.

No karma at all in that sonic.Believe me i wish we had got away with it in 1990 and just like the boston fans it would not of bothered me at all.I can relate to the boston situation a bit more i think because just like us back then there is nothing the fans could of done about it.

Its not about morals sonic its about idiots running football clubs and killing the clubs due to mismanagment,

This is not the fans fault in the same way it was not my fault in 1990

It's nto the fans fault, I'm not suggesting it is - I just don't have a great deal of sympathy for them. I do feel a little sorry for them but then I don't really give a fuck about football outside Swindon Smiley

The point I'm trying to make is that Boston going out of business is, in my opinion, the punishment they get - whether deservedly or not - for escaping demotion despite being found guilty for illegal payments which resulted in them achieving promotion.

The only similarity between us and them is the crime, the punishment is vastly difference. That's what irks me most.

I agree with you sonic that they didn't deserve to get promoted to the football league. The karma part, that their continuing financial irregularities has affected the football and is partly responsible for their probable relegation this season is fair enough.

Wishing that they go out of business seems like hoping for the death penalty on someone who's stolen a loaf of bread to me.

I don't wish/hope/want them to go out of business, I don't really mind if they don't go out of business. I'm just saying that I think going bust wouldn't be entirely unjust given their past.

ok then Sonic. I'd say that not caring that they go out of business is like not caring that someone get's the death penalty for stalking young children.

They gave you the death penalty? That's a bit harsh.

i still don't want to be promoted on the strength of some cunt in a boardroom in licolnshire being a prick, what an anticlimax that would be.
