We are on the preference list thing and now barely ever get any of those calls. If we do we just say we are on the list and they panic  Cheesy
We are on the preference list, but just recently we have had a lot of calls from Capital One Credit, we have number recognition and it comes through on an 0800 number!  When it come up now I answer "Wing Hong Chinese Restaurant, you wantee 69" in my best oriental accent.  They tend to put the phone down!

At home I get asked if im Mrs Moulding about 5 times a day or did until I got super abusive.

Shocked Mrs Moulding was the previous owner of my old place in Deburgh Street.

We got all sorts of letters for her about overdue loans and credit cards etc.

I get weird Irish people calling and texting me all the time - I think an Irish girl had my mobile number before me -someone left a message on my answerphone the other day saying I had left my pub in the Royal Oak - it wasnt me so the poor girl will probably never get her coat back!

Is it true that they only leave it 3 months before re-allocating a mobile number to someone else?

DV - Say "Yes this is Dorcan school, how can I help you?" - then say you are going to put them on hold and put the receiver next to some sort of music playing device, they will soon stop calling.

thing is, it isnt a cold call....people generally think our number is dorcan school....if I did that they would eventually hang up and re-ring again and again and again.

One of my mates used to always ring here and say is that dorcan school....'no it isnt you've dialled the wr...' yeah I know its me.... :x

Hmm, my nan and grandad had a similar problem as their number was so similar to Dominos Pizza - If I can remember how they sorted it I'll let you know.

In the meantime I'd just have some fun with the callers at their expense. Download "hanging on the telephone" and use it as the hold music.

Also, use 1471 to gather all their numbers and sign them up to various stuff that will get them loads of cold calls, and call them during the night (withold your number of course) and ask them random stuff.

nah I meant 01793 525231? is the dorcan school number. I bet than DV's number is similar. I'm going to ring some numbers which are nearly the same and see if I can find him.
