We wont beat South Africa either anyway. And West Indies and todays game will both be very tight. The simple fact is in one day cricket we are not a top 4 team not even top 6 so we dont deserve to be in the Semi's.

If we make the semi's i'll eat Sonics lungs!

This should be a win. I don't care if we can't qualify, we need to beat Bangladesh and West Indies if only to salvage some pride and walk away from the tournament having beaten a non-associate side.

Just looking at scorecards from the ODI series against Bangladesh in '05, look at the scores from our openers in the three games against them.

1st game: England won by 10 wickets
Code:

ME Trescothick        not out                                  100
AJ Strauss            not out                                  82

2nd game: England won by 168 runs
Code:
ME Trescothick        c Shahriar Nafees  b Nazmul Hossain      85
AJ Strauss            lbw                b Nazmul Hossain     152

3rd game: England won by 5 wickets
Code:
ME Trescothick       c Khaled Mashud    b Manjural Islam Rana  43
AJ Strauss                               b Manjural Islam Rana 98

Says it all really...

They have improved though. They have beat India and South Africa. That said we should be beating a team like this easily. Which at the moment we are!!

Maybe so but it just highlihts how our openers aren't scoring enough, the difference in those partnerships and the Vaughan/Joyce partnerships we've had lately is huuuuge.
