I don't know what you lot are on about, but I had some sweatbands when I was about 10.  They were the don daddies, white with blue and red stripes Cool

If the money is helping out charities/causes then I dont think it matters if people are just buying them to be trendy,at least hopefully some good will come out of it.

Better than spending the money on sweets or glue to sniff.

I've got a livestrong one and wear it cos its for a good cause. I cycle a lot and after reading lance armstrongs book, I felt I had to do something...he is one amazing fella and has had hell of rough time, and it shows my support for cancer suffers across the world- also has an effect when a relative has been affected by cancer....

I think the main gripe with them is the increasing number of people that are buying them off of those who bought in bulk, intending to sell for profit. There are a large amount of people who see these things as some kind of fashion accessory and have not actually donated anything to a good cause in order to acquire one.

wristbands are fucking batty. i dont care if they're for charity, if you want to give to charity then donate money properly dont get drawn into the wankiest of fashions ever. we all get drawn into fashions but buying bits of fucking plastics to go round your wrist? that's totally shit.

What's wrong with giving some money to charity and getting a 'fashion accessory' in return?

as much as i don't like these things, at least they are getting charities money, and sell better than those brooches/ribbons etc. However, it's the people who sell these things for profits that annoys me, and also the twats that buy them off these people.

How many of you who wear these wristbands buy a poppy and wear it every year? (this isn't a dig, i would just be interested)

I always buy a poppy. Don't often wear it, if at all though.
