I wonder if any of the regular posters on this thread have ever walked away after a gig thinking "what a load of shite that was". Personally can't ever recall thinking that.
Compare & contrast with our other main fan based activity. Generally music = superlatives & football = expletives.
Anyway, Jesus & Mary Chain in good old Sussex by the sea tonight. Lucky enough to bag a ticket for a warm up show. Do like Brighton, the place has a gritty edge to it.
Ian Brown in Luxembourg. Absolutely pitiful.

Yeah, there have been issues when he's played live. Ok when I saw him & had a decent backing band.

Kasabian post Tom Meighan. They aren’t Kasabian any more, it’s a tribute act.

Like the Buzzcocks without Pete Shelley. Avoided disappointment by having no interest in seeing them since he passed away.

Obviously he sings like a drain but he just kept fucking up. Maybe it was 'amusing' the first time when he didn't start the song correctly and had to redo it, but the 4th time he fucked something up just got irritating.

Undertones without Feargal Sharkey, probably quite a few that have done this.

John Power acoustic set in Pompey last night, excellent as ever. Far from saints next week in Frome, then DMA’s in Southampton in a couple weeks finishing with Noel Gallagher in Cardiff just before Christmas. Cracking end to the year.

Queens of the Stone Age in Bournemouth last week - awesome, last time I saw them was 22 years ago at Glastonbury with Dave Ghrol playing drums.

I saw QOTSA in Birmingham last week. First time in 18 years, I think, having seen them live quite a few times up to Lullabies to Paralyze.
They were great but there was a very 'Sunday evening' feeling within the crowd. Felt flat.
Always good to see The Chats too.

I think I last saw them about then on the Lullabies tour... Reading Festival 2005.
