Anyone see Sturrocks come and get him plea in the adver last night.

Obvious they are gonna sell to pay off their debts (AGAIN). Sturrock is in with the board if you ask me

I will bow to other's better knowledge but I have yet to see what all the fuss about Lucas is.

I am sure that he has excelled at a more junior level but in the games that I have seen him play at senior level, he has looked well out of his depth.

He might have a lot of potential but as far as I can see, that's all he has got - he may OR MAY NOT fulfill that potential.

I expect to be criticised for this post!!!!

No, I agree to some extent. It is clear that he is very strong and athletic, but he doesn't have any pace - which is what you need to be a premiership player. I doubt he will get any quicker but his awareness and ability & to read the game and become more 'experienced' will only come with playing matches.

Watch this space is the phase I believe

I also agree, he has potential - but he didn't stand out in the yoof mtch as I expected, and I know he's young but seems to look very laboured at an early stage in matches.  Serious talent, but at this stage a million miles from the premiership.

The World has gone mad - FACT!

We're talking about Premiership clubs watching Lukas (well Sturrock is anyway) when he has done absolutely sweet FA for us. That is not his fault and I'm not having ago but let's take things one step at a time!

1. Let's see him actually starting on a regular basis.

2. Let's see him scoring goals for us on a regular basis.

3. Let's see him do this for two or three seasons, helping us get a couple of promotions in the process.

Perhaps then we can all start talking about a big club coming in and paying silly money for him. Until then he has a hell of a lot to prove.

Is that a wind-up? utter bollocks! He was stating there were scouts there, and he doesn't blame them. Nothing more.

whats happened to your rumour of Sturrock joining the board?

first half i'd agree with you, but then newcastle pretty much dominated that 45 minutes. second half and extra time lucas won everything in the air, against some big lads, and let's not forget his goal. class at any level. his movement and awareness already is of someone who's been playing for a few seasons, and from what i've seen he has that composure in front of goal that could make him a clinical striker (i'm thinking particularly of the goal at walsall). i don't normally say things like this but if it had been lucas in the one-on-one situation v hartlepool then i would imagine he would have put it away.

though having said that i'd fancy even i could have scored in that position, and i'm gash.

the only way i can see him leaving is if the board say "yeah we'll take any check that is offered to us with glee"
