But Rob .... doesn't it make going to any meeting pretty pointless too if people have already made up their minds in advance that it will just be a heap of lies and propaganda?
If people don't go that is different and fair enough.....
There seems to be some misconceptions about this meeting. The board and their dwindling number of apologists seem to think that its an opportunity for them to wheel out their so called big hitters in an attempt to once again put their case forward for staying in office.
They know Sturrock is revered by the fans and he will probably do the 'I've not been here long lads, I understand why you are all so pissed off and that the board have made mistakes, but their hearts are in the right place. Just give me some time to put right all the wrongs. If we all work together we can make this club great again' routine.
On the other hand there is a determined consortium waiting to take control of the club. The boards bluff has now well and truly been called and there is considerable support for Power, Emmel, Wilkes and the Trust to takeover.
Oh, and there is still the small matter of the CVA and Bill Powers 1.2m to consider. Wills and the board cant pay either. The consortium can pay the CVA and Bill Power isn't going to sue himself for the 1.2m, now is he?
I can't see the consortium supporters sitting around at the forum while Boredon, Sturrock or Diamandis try to convince everyone what a great bunch that the board are.
The meeting has the potential to get very heated depending on who says what. Whatever happens, I really do not think it's going to be the walk in the park that the board are expecting.
Time has moved on. Opinions have been formed based on their shit performance and lies as a governing entity for over 5 years. One more attempt to curry favour, ask for another chance, or to threaten a move to Chippenham just is not going to fucking wash.
The way I see it is that the board have two choices left open to them.
They can either A: Fuck Off, or B: Fuck off.
