What are your opinions on them? I hear that at one point people wanted to ban them but are you guys anti them, don't give a toss or all-out in their favour?

Not bothered either way.
I know quite a few really good lads that went to public schools, but also quite a few posh dickheads.

I've not met many people from public schools, but the ones I have met have generally been dickheads who are so far removed from reality it's laughable.
I wouldn't get rid of them though, as I think the above is more a result of upbringing than any school system.

I voted for Option C. They know their place, we know ours, it's how the world works. Don't question the status quo (or any other naff 60's/70's/80's/90's guitar based rock bands)

Well....! I am just always very conscious of the fact as some people can be quite hostile on the topic, and stereotype public school people as arrogant - glad to see that most of the people here don't mid too much. to be honest there are some INCREDIBLY arrogant people here - but then again it's not as if you can only be arrogant if you go to these schools, and indeed many people are not, it's just the arrogant ones making such a racket that gives the bad impression that sticks. Worst part is only being able to see STFC games a couple of time a season! at least i can make the game this w/e

I know a few people who go to Dauntsey, which is probably the shithole of all public schools, but they're okay.
Having said that I've met people from that kind of background who are so far up their own arse they need a glass stomach to see where they're going!
Dont really mind the schools to be honest. They have their education, we have ours.

I went to one. If the state system was so crap in certain areas of the country i.e.: where I live, then they wouldn't be necessary. Wiltshire (not Swindon I'm from Chippenham) had good state secondary schools, but Sussex (Crawley) is absolute crap looking in from the outside, and having a girlfriend who teaches in one. Left to a state sixth form though, and went to a Primary school (Derry Hill!). Have to say in my experience, majority of people at public school were posh arrogant twats though, but some decent, down-to-earth people too. What happened to that guy on thisisstfc.co.uk with the signiture: "Please don't make me the only poshie here". He was from a posh school and pretty legendary.

my mate went to a public school and he's alright. i couldn't give a toss either way. Even if public schools did breed just arrogant twats (they aren't all like this) i still couldn't give a shit - state schools have their fair share of twats as well. I don't like to pre-judge people if i can help it
