.......is it just me or does nearly every game shown on BBC lately, in the FA Cup have at least one if not 2 ex STFC loanees somewhere on the pitch?
I'm sure they've had Spurs....Carrick Marney..........Newcastle....Given Milner.........Blackburn/Burnley.......Todd,Thompson/Grant.....Sheff.Utd......Thirlwell
In the early rounds they had Brentford.....Deon Burton.
Find another couple and it could make a team.

1994-95 season son, he played a few games on loan. He was solid but unspectacular.

He didn't really look up to much, so he's probably done quite well to have had a reasonable length of time playing at a decent level, if a bit irregularly.
Also provides the only example of a father and son playing for and managing STFC at senior level.
Some had their lads on the books like Bert Head, but they never played for the first team. Neither did Paul Trollope

Didn't we have a Hoddle junior playing for the youth team at one point too?

Didn't we have a Hoddle junior playing for the youth team at one point too? Don't remember it, which doesn't necessarily invalidate it. Both Macari and McMahon had sons who played for them at a later date, but were too young when they were here, which may have been a good thing.

I think one of Lou's sons topped himself, not sure if that was at Swindon or not though or if its relevant.

I seem to remember he was living in Nottingham at the time and 'on the books' at Stoke when he topped himself.
I don't know why I remember that, I just do.
On the subject of Hoddle, I would say he was too young when he was at Swindon to have any sons turning out for even our youth team. I did however see his brother Carl turning out for Barnet in the mid 90's. Imagine being 'God's' younger brother eh? Follow that!

Carl Hoddle.....doomed to the Joel Cantona/ Wayne Lineker/Rhodri Giggs role in the scheme of things.
