I like the black jelly babies best. They also remind me of Sade's kids

Jelly belly beans are really good...
but I can't stand normal jelly beans.

Jelly babies are nice but not as good as the jelly belly experience!

Black is so passé. It's understandable that children would be more likeable in orange. I suppose they'd have a certain charm in a freakish way.

Jellybeans are one of only two things I can think of that I will not eat.  (The other is beetroot.  Horrible childhood memories of purple juice staining, and therefore contaminating, other food.)

The reason I cannot eat jellybeans is that one day at the end of the school holidays I made a trip to the local sweetshop and bought half a pound of them.  I troughed the lot, and half an hour later I was then involved in a playground accident that resulted in a severe blow to the head.  When I came round, I was taken to hospital with my head on my Mum’s lap in the back of the car…and it was at this point that I started vomiting copiously.

The hospital was a good 15 miles from where we were living and so I had a good 30 mins in the car with my face just inches away from the vomit that had collected in the kitchen bowl I was being sick in to.  The vomit was a colourful and congealed mixture of partly digested jellybeans – the memory of which still causes me to feel quite ill.

Suffice to say I haven’t touched another jellybean in the intervening 20 years.
