A fucking disgrace.
Me and the missus have just been for a run, well I say that but we actually only managed 500 yards.
Got halfway down Redcliffe Street and the missus goes sprawling accross the pavement, her leg had fallen down an open manhole cover.
Her leg's all bruised, she's cut her other leg and has badly grazed her hand. But what pisses me off the most is SBC must have known about it because someone put a solitary orange warning cone, INSIDE the manhole. What the fuck??? No barriers or boards over the whole, just a cone chucked in it.
Luckily it's just a few bruises which'll heal, but she could have broken her leg or worse.
I'm so fucking mad!!!!!
Rant over. My gf's nephew sued the council as he was riding his bike home from school and came off due to some sort of dodgy piece of pavement, he broke his collarbone. They went straight down to the area to take pictures of the path and the next day the council fixed the problem, luckily for them they had pictures as evidence and he got a nice payment.

This suing people thing has gone insane. Shouldn't they have taken the poor kid to hospital before they ran off taking pictures?

Aren't there some cunts going around steeling manhole covers? I have a feeling there is. Still, i blame SBC for everything. If all else fails, I'd go and stab the staff of SBC up a bit. They're worth a few bob, well the old ones are. I do liike old fashioned "street furniture".....old road signs, street name plates, coal holes, shoe scrapers, man hole covers, street lights....any of that sort of stuff.....unfortunately SBC rather trying to preserve fine examples prefer to remove them and put in some modern cack. there are still a few treasures about though.

I've always liked the the old cast iron radiators but they're now like gold dust. An old friend now turned plumber in Northampton raids old buidings for them and turns over a couple of grand for a good set.

Victorian fireplaces are a bit like that....used to be ripped out and thrown away in the 60's and 70's now worth something.

[cunt]I think it's just an excuse because Sam can't be bothered to run[/cunt]
In all seriousnous hope she's alright. SBC get so much wrong. Even a shithole like Southampton is better at providing services.
