those that continually knock pook without any real justification know very little abotu footy imo.
i've watched him over the last few weeks and have concluded he has done no worse in those games than most other players but gets the most flack,
not fair on him at all.
oooh so he passed back instead of a square ball a couple of times today, but we kept possession of the ball each time.when he did go back he looked to pass forward but had no options,if he'd passed forward to noone then the groans would have happened then.
the lad cant win and i feel sorry for him as he's better than alot give him credit for

Good post. Pook can play well and still be given grief.

He's a boy ffs. (Cue the "Exactly why he shouldn't be in a man's team" comments)

I thought he was good today, no way a five and an easy 7. He has only been poor on a couple of occassions. He only gets greif because people love to hate him and it's the new "in thing".

He was loads better than Weston today, but because pook passes sideways and backwards, (like Beckham when he isn't crossing yeah?) he's shit? People then give Weston a better rating then pook because he's had a few standout perormances so far this season, yet goes equally absent.

I think it's laughable how people focus on a young lad who clearly puts in the effort and doesn't sqander possession in pursuit of glory. This band wagon jumping, lets give Pook shit bollocks is so seriously fucking pathetic.

It seems sticking up for Pook is now the new 'in thing'

I thought he was rubbish yesterday and with a fully fit squad wouldnt get near the match day 16.

He doesnt posses any stand out skills, he's a decent enough backup player to draft in when players are injured, but he very rarely creates anything or makes anything happen.

Weston has the ability to run at players and get pas them, to create something....yesterday wasnt his best game but he still got forward made some nice runs and as usual got stuck in and broke up just as much play as Pook did.

Pook is an ok player, but I give it 3 years before he's non-league...

Pook was poor yesterday, he huffs and puffs but he constantly makes the wrong decisions, especially on the ball.

dave how can you say that and not give your opinion.
what ratings would you give.

steve said a number of players had average games- but rated them between 6, 7 and 8. how does this work?

he said williams did his job well and gave him a 6 but ifil, who steve acknowledged cost us a goal with wanky marking, got higher.

there's a start.

I don't think you can represent someones effort and ability over many different areas of the game with just a simple number on a weird scale which seems to range from 3 to 9, and quite frankly I find in offensive to do so. Good day to you sirs.

Ricky Shakes - 8 - Again, thought he was played very well today. Much improved in recent weeks. The extra/different training is working. Long may it continue

Cheesy  I knew he would come good! I said that from day one DV! Maybe you lot will ease up taking the piss out of me rating Shakes when I get back

How Pook can get any praise for Saturday is beyond me. He is firmly in the Bobby Howe/Matt Hewlett bracket, only not as good. I'm even considering rating Fraser McHugh higher.

I too used to think that Pook was shite .. but decided this was no good for the team and Pook himself as everyone gets on his back.

As a result I started the support Pook campaign based on a joke STFC Bart  made about him .. the sarcastic comment that "Pook is the r ock that the opposition defences flounder upon" .. hence the nickname!

This resulted in our little section watching him more closely than usual and generally supporting him that bit more .. creating a flag for the back of the nationwide and just giving him a little fan club.

Now when you watch a player that bit more closely you realise exactly what they are doing in a match - Pook does make some mistakes but these are seized upon by the moaners at the ground all too quickly. He often produces good tackles and some amazingly good passes that split defences as well

His confidence could be better (which goes hand in hand with fans on his back all the time) and should really score more goals .. but he is no way a bad player. He never stops running for the whole game and his effort is beyond most of the players in the squad.

With a little fan power and support im sure his performances would improve even more  ... I dream of the day the Michael Pook song is sung - (like the old Andy and Ashley Cole tune of old - OOOOO MICHAEL POOOOK is the Swindon Town RRROCKKKKK is the Swindon Town RROOOCCKK etc)

Finally the one thing that angers me most about the barracking of Pook is that he is a local lad and surely the fans should support and encourage local players not run them down

End of Pook rant!!

I have a personal vendetta against him so I'll always think he's a cunt.

And he's a shite footballer most of the time aswell. He just has no footballing brain whatsoever. For those of you that stay he's still a boy, Weston is younger than him yet looks like twice the player.
