those that continually knock pook without any real justification know very little abotu footy imo.
i've watched him over the last few weeks and have concluded he has done no worse in those games than most other players but gets the most flack,
not fair on him at all.
oooh so he passed back instead of a square ball a couple of times today, but we kept possession of the ball each time.when he did go back he looked to pass forward but had no options,if he'd passed forward to noone then the groans would have happened then.
the lad cant win and i feel sorry for him as he's better than alot give him credit for

only game i've seen since rovers was Franchise and he was fucking atrocious in that game. i'm sure the majority would agree with me.

sadly he seems to be a player who raises his game for the 'big games', i.e. palace but has trouble motivating himself in general. his lack of consistency will be his undoing imo.

personally i thought he would improve tenfold this season after coming through last season in a poor side but he's not improved enough.

the fact he's a swindon lad doesn't really bother me as he seems no more committed than anyone. i'd like to see him do well simply because he's a swindon lad but it doesn't mean he should be exempt from criticism.

pook lacks notable skills, he's an efficient worker, willing runner but can't pass or tackle sufficiently well enough. he's not gifted with talent either. at his best he's looked above average in league 2, is he the sort of player we need?

our central midfielders always seem to get stick though, regardless of who they are.

Hmm... there was rife speculation that Weston would go in the transfer window.

However, he's got injured and played shit since the start of January.

Coincedence?

In a way, he's like Ifil.

Think Pook would do much better along side a vocal 'captain' midfielder to bark orders at him.

IMO, pook doesn't have the talent to be a 'fancy dan' midfielder, in the way that weston is. From what ive seen of him over the last season and a half, his strengths seem to be tackling, harrasing and breaking up play. However, he goes missing far too often at times, and doesn't take the responsibility that he perhaps should. He does have potential, and he does have ability, but he needs to recognise his strengths, play to them, and like DV says, probably needs a more vocal, experienced player playing alongside him.

Which is exactly his job in the team. He also gets box to box and even gets on the end of attacks beyond the strikers.

Proper sh*te. Wink

The boos for when Brown appeared were for the departing Boob.....who incidentally showed his appreciation of the Zofiane Zaaboub song (to the tune of KC and the Sunshine Band.....Give it up) by applauding the right side of the TE singing it.

Good post. Pook can play well and still be given grief.

He's a boy ffs. (Cue the "Exactly why he shouldn't be in a man's team" comments)

I thought he was good today, no way a five and an easy 7. He has only been poor on a couple of occassions. He only gets greif because people love to hate him and it's the new "in thing".

He was loads better than Weston today, but because pook passes sideways and backwards, (like Beckham when he isn't crossing yeah?) he's shit? People then give Weston a better rating then pook because he's had a few standout perormances so far this season, yet goes equally absent.

I think it's laughable how people focus on a young lad who clearly puts in the effort and doesn't sqander possession in pursuit of glory. This band wagon jumping, lets give Pook shit bollocks is so seriously fucking pathetic.

I'm not on any bandwagon.

I think Pook is shit. Really.

Given a fit Evans, a non-suspended Timlin and a fit Weston then he wouldn't even be on the bench.

pook was better than weston in this match, let's be honest.

should have at least hit the target with the chance he had in the first though.

Obviously I don't get to as many games as you guys, the games I have been to in the past I haven't been impressed with Pook, however it sounds like he is being operated as more of a defensive midfielder, similar to Lennon at Ceptic and Makalele at Chelsea. Obviously not in the same class but an important role nonetheless. If he can go about the game winning tackles, mopping up, giving the easy balls etc then he is doing his job surely?

Um Brown came on for Zaboub and that's when the boooob things were. I didn't hear any booing and that is what I was referring to.

Weston wasn't any good and Pook was better than him, but that doesn't make Pook good or have potential. That's what I was referring to.
