Sorry arriba certainly not my experience either of giving them out or of seeing people wearing them. There are quite a few kids wearing them, usually sent to get them by their parents who don't want to look daft (fair enough) but know full well what it's about and back it 100%. Certainly where I sit, there's a fair bit of orange and there's very few kids there at all (wearing orange or not). I've also been surprised how many 60+ supporters are prepared to "don the orange". Guess it depends on the make-up of fans around you in the ground, to some extent

I had my orange trust /power shirt on yesterday but what with the weather, it was'nt visible cos i was covered up. 2 mates who went with me also wore orange shirts, and they are joining up.
I was having a few bevvies in the swiss chalet last night, several people approached me and asked about joining the trust, so i pointed them to the website to join up.

This thing is growing arriba, sounds to me like you might be on your own in thinking otherwise. But then you are a grumpy bastard anyway! Tongue

I was pleasantly surprised to see the amount of orange in the CGH yesterdy when I popped in to pay Alan, I think the weather is a big factor, like Millon said people cover up with coats and the like.  In teh warmth of the pub there was good numbers.  I suspect as the campaign spreads into the spring and hopefully better weather more visible shows of colour will be on, as a t-shirt is easy but no one will go out and buy a bright orange overcoat just for the game.

i asked a group of lads(about 15-16) at a garage sat on the wall after the game why they were wearing them and they said "dunno just got given them"
i fully support the orange campaign but think it aint working and is becoming a joke!
they are handed out to people that have no idea about what is going on!
Thats not true im 14 and know about the orange revolution stfc bart goes on bout it loads. Therefor i am the exeption. But i know what you mean

How about trying to get hold of shed loads of orange balloons ?
All get released at kick off, then the weather being what it is at the moment they will all get blown over the newbury skyline.
At least then Mike can see whats going on.

We have discussed the idea of balloons before - problem is getting them in the ground inflated (because realistically you're not going to get several thousand people to blow them up themselves, even on a one-each basis)

Even if you had several hundred people prepared to blow up their own balloon as well as those with hats it would add to the visual impact. I think this is worth a try!

but unless you fill them up with helium they will probably all end up blowing across the pitch - and i think in terms of the 'protesting whilst not interrupting the players' policy that might cause a problem, and from a PR point of view might back fire

A bottle of helium from boc isnt expensive paul, nor are the balloons. Buy the balloons, blow em up in the trust office, and let them go just before kick off from whatever  side of the ground the wind is blowing so that those inside the ground can see them as they are released including the directors, perhaps even give some out to kids on sticks so they can take em into the ground with em!

The club won't let us take balloons in though, so this suggestion, as good as it is, can't be implemented.
