Gooden by name.....

Midfielder Gooden set to retire

Canvey Island midfielder Ty Gooden has left Park Lane and is to retire from the game.
The former Gillingham and Swindon Town player joined his home town club Canvey in August, 2003.

The 32-year-old made over 30 appearances last season to help Jeff King's side win the Rymans League.

However, Gooden has been limited to just three Conference appearances since Canvey's promotion and played his last game back in August.

Iv got fond memories of Ty.

Welcome back down my way anytime. He could have had a lot better career than he actually did really, not through his own fault, just unlucky.

Used to be my favourite player when I started supporting the Town. Always had the ability to run at defenders and put great balls into the box for Onuora and Hay.

I can remember 3 screamers, Rotherham at home Sep 95 to win it 1-0, Barnsley Nov 96, probably the best one, and Oxford Dec 97 in a 4-1 win, never seemed to score simple goals.

And yes, I'm bored so going through old posts to see what catches my eye before anyone wonders why I've just replied to this post! Cheesy
