this confuses me a bit, surely at any one point there is the same amount of water in the world - is it just that it costs loads to turn sea water into drinking water? takes me back to SimCity days, what were those plants you had to build to give the people water called? d------isation or something......

No ban here ! Unfortunately any hosepipe that is outside is frozen and covered with 2ft snow that fell today ! Another 1ft due overnight and tomorrow morning. State of emergency declared in Colorado. Fantastic ! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/6198785.stmNMH 'Boom boom boom, let me hear you sing hosepipe ban'

It's gonna take more than a couple weeks of rain to fill up the groundwater and surface water reservoirs.
Did you know we have one of the lowest amounts of rainfall per head than any other european country and some parts of essex and Kent can technically be classed as deserts.

It's because we all drink so much beer I think these days, which clearly needs a lot of water input.
