just accidentally set off my residences fire alarm whilst trying to cook brownies (the normal choclatey kind, not the naughty one's). firemen and all.

Happened all the time back at Uni, the best was when I sprayed one of my housemates arms with air freshner, set him alight and the smoke from his arms set the things off and stank to high heaven.

they pinned down the flat and when we went back up, asked what we'd burnt (it reeked). i told them toast. i don't know why i lied about the foodstuff involved.

no fine though, thank god.

aha toast, that's put you in the clear. Cool Ours went off a few times last year. Loudest noise I have ever heard, like 200 decibels one time they set it off at 5am and I couldn't even sleep through it. There wasn't even a fire. :evil:

the plate i had used to cook the mixture in was fucking boiling when i took it out of the microwave using only a double-ply tea towel. i threw it out the window. circular object in the centre of the photo
