I went over my overdraft loads when I was a student. Mainly because I was ace.

i always pay me credit card bill on time - last month, becasue i moved house, i had quite a large balance, but I had the cash to pay for it. I waited and waited for a statement, but didn't get one and in the end took a guess and paid off the balance. It turns out I missed the deadline by 2 days but luckily guessed about right (+2quid !) so i didn't get charged interest - they still wacked a 12 quid late payment charge on though - I wouldn't be at all surprised if they deliberately did that just becasue they never make any money out of me...

i dont have this problem myself but there was a story on the BBC website yesterday about this and they provide pdf files of already professionally scripted letters to send to your banks for you so you dont have to know the legal jargon or do any hard work.....just calculate what you have lost and send their letter with your name and details!! Looked ace I thought, well done BBC for being so kind!

I posted a registered letter to my bank today claiming £5,486 in illegal bank charges over the last six years.
I will let you know.
NB if I get it all I will spend it on:
- a new bathroom - paying off my good lady's credit cards - getting a MiG welder and putting my eldest daughter's (proper) Mini on the road before she passes her test - a proper long lens for Sonic
That is all

this is all bollocks
if you don't like charges stop spending the banks money and work harder you thieving cunts.
it's not hard, i spend no more than i earn and thus i have no monetary issues.

you're wrong on both counts so what's point?
seriously. overdraft= bank agrees to give you X amount extra. if you then spend more than that than whose fault is it?
i spend 1,100 a month and this is slightly under what i take home after tax. fuck, if me, an 18 y/o pisshead can budget better than you lot then thats your problem

hence, you get an overdraft. not an overdraft and a bit extra at the banks expense.
it's like saying i couldn't be arsed to buy a parking ticket but why should i get the fine? err, because it's the law and on your contract in balck and white?

you live to your means though, if you earn £1100pm then you wouldn't get a mortgage
