Having read several articles regarding Banks over charging on there fees etc i took a look into it www.penaltycharges.co.uk

and have found out i can claim back money wich Barclays have unlawfully taken from me for the last 6 years.

They charge me up to a maximum of £90 (3 x £30 max) each month for going over my overdraft when really they are only allowed to claim £7.50 (3 x £2.50 max)

spread this over the 6 years, they owe me a shit load + interest.

so i'm gonna start the ball rolling and see what happens

i've always argued with Barclays that how is adding £90 to my account gonna help me?

quite a few times they have charged me £90 when in total over 3 seperate occasions i've only gone over my overdraft by £20.

i'll get the fuckers

I have looked into this also, I have had terrible problems with debt and my bloody bank.  I get so mad, but I haven't the bottle to go through with it I don't think. Although I know that I should!  cunts.

do it birdy.

i've just signed my DPA letter to request 6 years of bank statements.
costs me £10 for this but apparently you can claim it back also.

if they don't settle before you summon a court hearing you can add 8% interest to this aswell.

it takes a while but will be well worth getting a few £k back in my bank.

not long at all. He had his initial letter rebuffed, but then took them to a small claims court. It cost about 70 quid but he got that back too. Took about a month. He's doing mine for me, reckon I'm owed about 600 quid, which would come in handy in Jan!

Ask for the full Subject Access Request. It's still £10, which is legally the maximum they can charge. State you want all information they hold on file for you.

Once you've calculated the amount you are owed, state you want them to justify the charges in a letter. Then take them to court.

If the bank does end up in court and they some how manage to explain their charges, this will open the flood gates to claims, hence the out of court settlements and paying what is asked without arguement.

They merely play delay tactics, they will always pay out in full, as no bank will ever attempt to justify their charges.

But you probably know this now.
