Jan Aage Fjortoft. Lillestrom manager... would at least get us dreaming again - might not have the contacts required though for players?

Thoughts?

Why wouldn't Jan? He's a legend here, a move to england would further his managerial career?

Granted, Lillestrom guarantees uefa cup football, but...

Jan Aage's barmy army!! If I wanted to win some brownie points with the fans I would move heaven and earth to get that man to the county ground.

Perhaps the best idea ever, pure pie in the sky name dropping fantasy, but that would make my day so much, proper hero with seemingly some genuine experience in management.

Sorry to break some hearts here but Jan-Aage Fjortoft would probably go at the first opportunity too - he has a history of sulking and there is no way in hell he'd move countries from a cushy club and media job to manage Swindon Town! Especially with our board.

Face it, we might as well appoint a Swindon fan... At least they'd stay  Tongue

I emailed Jan awhile back wishing him luck from STFC when Lillestrom were in the cup final, he replied saying thanks and wished his "first club in England" all the best and said he follows our results.

I think I lost the email when my HDD died though :-(

Well email him damn it!

Look, I'm under no illusions that the money received for compo from wise and gus will be swalled in debt - but christ - you have to speculate to accumulate and think what someone like that would do for attendances/morale - not just for us as fans but the players too - the reason we've done so well is because they've believed in someone who has done it. Well Jan has done it and has managemrnt experience. Any money we'd have to shell out for him would be covering our own back and agreed - he won't be on much in Norway. Give him £100k and he'd be happy.

I'd absolutely love Jan to take over, but realistically I can't see it happening.

Dave Penney would do a decent job, he was pretty good at Doncaster last season.
