I honestly think wise would of gone no matter what was happening behind the scenes.no doubt he has a good reason now and can blame this that and the other but imo he has wanted to go for a while now.he was asked various times about the leeds job and spent longer telling us why he didnt want to talk about it rather than a simple "no i am staying here"

i just think the fact that wise has told the adver that the leeds position was a massive massive job says it all really and he is having a pop at the board to justify his decision to leave

It aint an excuse

No one can work with Diamandis/Dunwoody- we should be questioning why this is the case. This includes Wise, Power, Devlin, Birrel etc

Bart....

Does the fact that Wise has ended up lying to us (re comments when he arrived), also said things about O'Hanlon (who was actually out of contract anyway) and Brown (re loyalty) mean nothing to you.

Not looking to be confrontational - I just want you to be objective and let us all have your views ON WISE'S ACTIONS rather than the normal 'it's the board's fault' rant.

So please, comment directly on Wise's comments and Wise's actions, keeping them SEPARATE from the Board rant.

They are intrinsically linked, to deny that is foolish.

I do believe that if it was any other club than Leeds, Wise would have been more likely to stick it out here for a little longer but faced with the decision of working for a bunch of no-marks who can barely run a football club or working with your long-time friend and the Godfather of your son, what would you do?

Wise is still a cunt for walking away after saying the things he did but I have some sympathy.

After attending the famous Trust meeting at the Raiway Museum and hearing about the shenanigans at the CG I came away thinking that it was only a matter of time before Wise left.
Basically the set-up that DW signed up to originally has changed beyond all recognition. One of the main reasons he came was that he was promised full control. This has obviously not happened so he has every right to feel aggrieved.
I have no hard feelings to him for leaving us. It is just yet another example of the chaotic, amateurish way our club is run.

SY - I appreciate that there may be some crossover BUT......

Wise commented on wanting to work his way up from the bottom. He also slated O'Hanlon and Brown.

So because of the Boardroom shenanigans, that makes it OK to go back on your word (I am not questionning loyalty here - there is none in football).

In other words, because of the boardroom shenanigans, he chose to completely contradict himself and rather than work his way up from the bottom, decided that 'that's enough of working my way up' and jumped ship.

I don't think that we disagree and I imagine (through other comments) that the board are somehow partly to blame but not to the extent that he does a complete U-Turn and contradicts everything he said earlier, especially questionning player's loyalty when he clearly had/has none himself.

Depends if he felt that he wasn't actually going to be doing the job he had signed up for at STFC I suppose.

If my job is changed and people begin to work against me then I have a tendency to start looking around.

Don't think it had got to that stage yet, and the fact that it was Leeds had more impact in the decision, but it had probably got to the stage where in my analogy I'd be tweaking my CV in readiness.

my final say on the wise matter is he had a clause in his contract for this reason and this reason only,he had no intentions of staying long as the clause suggests and he happened to get it earlier than he expected.

The board helped make his mind up offering him shares was probably the final straw Cheesy but anyone who thinks they are TOTALLY to blame for this is wrong.imo he would of gone no matter who was on the board but none of us will ever know for a fact will we? so its all about opinions

they aint linked,he's just used it as an excuse.dont be so gullible.
the clause in his contract is evidence enough that we were a part time thing until a better offer from elsewhere was made.

All the clause suggests is that he's ambitious, I think we all knew that from his playing career.

Deano, I'm not saying they're entirely to blame and wholly responsible but to dismiss the board's influence on events as irrelevent is simply foolish. Wise acted disgracefully but I can't blame him for leaving given the circumstances.

Arriba, I am not gullible. I've formed my own conclusions based on things I have heard and my understanding of events - on that basis, I cannot accept that Wise's decision to leave was not affected by the board in any manner.

Anyway I've tried to explain my thoughts to you on the subject elsewhere and you either don't read them or just ignore them, preferring instead to post snide remarks every now and then.
