He didn't get Saints in Prem but will give you the Wednesday one.  Just not convinced.  But I don't have a better option

He was in charge at the end of the season Plymouth became champions and we lost in the play-offs, then was strangely sacked about 4 games into the new season.

Very highly regarded in Plymouth, and Wendy fans were singing his name Saturday.

More likely to end up with Bob Sturrock, assistant manager at Wooton Bassett.

Two T's in Wootton!

Thank you  Cool

Not what I meant mate. Whether he was successful at a (then) premiership club is immaterial. It's what he can (And has) done in the lower leagues that interests me.

I'm not looking for a manager to get us into the top flight, that's optimism bordering on insanity, I 'm looking for a manager to take us out of this league and hopefully out of the one above as well.

Fair enough.  I don't expect us to get to the Prem either and think that the Championship is a fair way off too.  Just not sure.  Sounds like the Wednesday and Plymouth fans liked him but I know the Saints fans didn't

FOR OF ATTENTION The Board?

  Sadly they don't understand English.

What if we printed each word out on a piece of paper and sent it to them?

It'd be like Bowie's lyric writing method.

It's not the board you need to FAO - recent statements from the club made it very clear it's not them who make these decisions

Why Sturrock?  OK at Plymouth but did nothing at Southampton or Wednesday.

He took Plymouth from League Two to the Championship. I think he left for Southampton before they actually won League One but he did all the ground work and now Plymouth are an established Championship.

My first 10 years as a Town fan I'd never even heard of Plymouth they were that shit.

Then he moved to Sheffield Wednesday turned their season around, got them promoted to the Championship then kept them up the next season.

Thats alot of acheivements in the lower leagues, more so than anyone else in the running
