As the current board seem pretty keen on a cheap option replacement I suggest that they appoint Chalkie White - He isnt going to demand massive wages - BUT - he will ensure the same hard work and fitness ethic that Dennis Wise started will continue. Anyone who can turn Chippenham Town from relegation fodder to Championship material in 1 season is obviously a class act - added to this the following - non league football is harder to manage in than league football - he has contacts and knows which non league players are worth a go at this level - Freddy Eastwood, DJ Campbell, Fola Onibuje type players - also I know that Swindon Town manager would be the pinnacle for him - no one could want it more - he gave 100 percent as a player and is respected by all the fans and im sure the same would be true as a manager. With Paul Bodin as a worthy assistant I think he might be able to emulate Lou Macari and Glenn Hoddle and take us back up the League. He also knows about the current situation as he always keeps a close eye on STFC so is not blind to what he is taking on. Unproven yes but as cheap options go .. and mark my words the board will only take a cheap option - that Steve CHALKIE White is the man!

I love the openly honest contradictions in your quest for a manager.
To be honest I think White and Bodin fell out when they were at Bath City. It was quite amusing when White quit Chippenham thinking he was going to get a new job (Bath again?) and he didn't get it. Oh dear.

By contradictions I think you mean not wanting a cheap option then saying Chalkie .. To be honest its because im not entirely sure who I do want .. but im certain a cheap option will be chose .. in which case id prefer someone I can really get behind like Chalkie
Didnt know about the fall out tho .. knew they had worked together before when Bodin managed Bath .. but maybe that was because Chalkie was a better manager? (Bodin had a poor spell there but as assistant would probably do well)

For the record I wouldn't be gutted if a past player like White or Shaun Taylor came back... The fear of tarnishing their playing career is always there though.
Look what happened to poor Jimmy Quinn who could do nothing about his managerial tenure at STFC.

to appoint chalkie white would be nothing short of a catastrophe. Can we not look a little further than the likes of white, bodin and taylor please?!
Give Williams a coupla games while scouting around for someone decent.

Juddie how can you even suggest that Williams can be better than Chalkie???
Im sorry but Williams is the cheapest of cheap options and im sure the majority of fans simply wont buy it - any more than one or at the most two games until a new manager is brought in is the most he should be in charge for... I hope that given your close connections with the club and current board that this isn't their thinking too - if so then I think we have even more serious concerns ahead of us

well at chippenham he fell out with people and got banned from the touchline several times. Also managers experience is only chippenham, not exactly what people on here have been saying.

not at all - if you are referring to Pook .. I was trying to make good of a bad player - optimism if you like ..
With regard to Steve White .. he would be good .. as the board will ONLY CHOOSE A CHEAP OPTION? he is the best of the cheaper bunch IMO - why is it that whatever some people suggest gets shot down in flames .. I dont think Steve is a stupid option - im serious this time! Give him the job

White would be a great manager.
Williams would be a shit manager.

You are having a pop at Williams before a ball has been kicked. That is Grade A cuntish behaviour Fatbury!

He isnt up to the job (from what ive seen of him playing, coaching and in general demeanour) IMO.. exactly what I said when Iffy Onoura was selected (and I think results proved me right!).. tbh we need an experienced top qualtiy manager ala Wise but the board will only choose cheap - hence thats why im backing White.
Re Williams as a player - I think he is a fine captain and an excellent solid defender- but manager .. sorry but no!
And my reasons for picking Steve White (ie evidence) is at the top of the post!
