I don't know. I suppose it depends how pursuasive Ken Bates is.

I'm fearing a repeat on the Roy Evans saga here ...

At 20 past the hour, not at 11?  Is this yet more bullshit?

Alan Curbishley replaced Dennis Wise as the favourite to become the next Leeds United manager within half an hour of the book being opened, Ladbrokes said last night.

The Magic Sign had the former Charlton boss at 8/1 in their first show with Swindon Town's Wise as the 2/1 jolly.

But Curbs is now 7/2 and the combative midfielder out to 4/1, alongside former Stamford Bridge manager Glenn Hoddle.

The other major market mover has been Claudio Ranieri who was initially priced up at 33/1 before being cut to 20/1 and then 10/1.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "We went up with 8/1 and got knocked over, pure and simple. The phones haven't stopped ringing.

"The punters are also very keen on the Chelsea connection and Ranieri is being heavily punted. A certain amount of tinkering has been needed...."

ranieri's a good shout, he's out of work isn't he? surely leeds would go for someone for whom they wouldn't have to pay any compensation for?

I would think so juddie, but you can never be sure.  Would be interesting to see Wises reaction should they approach him, after his public slating of O'Hanlon.

Wise probably has a clause in his contract out in there by Bob Holt or Sandy Gray stating

"If any other football league club comes in for Dennis Wise, will we not stand in his way, he will be free to leave.  Swindon Town Football Club will not be due any compensation but Swindon Town FC will help with any removal costs for Dennis and his family and promise to buy him a five bedroom home in the surrounding area of his new football club".
