.. on eastcott hill is gonna open again this weekend (probably) and it looks well fancy. And i live near it so im gonna become a regular with my own bar stool. Although it looks as though its a new trendy place like mackenzies or longs.

Interesting......The George is one of Swindon's older pubs, its a nice old stone building....I used to go there years ago to gigs in the room at the back. Got a bit of a poor reputation before its closure.....might give it a whirl if its sufficientlly trendy

The George is one of the few Old Town pubs, that I've never been banned from or asked to leave at some time or other.

Not really, but I'd imagine all of us over a certain age lets say 19, have been in a pub with a bunch of lads, having a bit of a laugh when its a got a bit too boisterous for some of the customers or landlord, or the landlord has just taken an exception to the way you dress.
The classic run is the Old Town pub crawl, where you start off at say The George and work your way up the hill, around Vic Road take in Wood Street Devizes Road and Newport Street and end somewhere like the Bell.

GK is a decent beer, but I find the IPA a bit thin and weak relative to something like Abbot.
