Sad

Found out some kid I went to school with who was in the same year as me was in a horrific mini moto accident. His own fault because he was messing about on it but he collided with a car as he lost control and hit a roundabout in the middle of a housing estate. Sent him into flames, in the paper it said he has 80% burns. Sounds horrible. He is in bristol frenchay hospital in the special burns unit and doctors are trying to save his life.

Why do kids do these things? they all show off infront of their friends and it ends in tragedy.

Sounds horrible. Those mini motos always looked like a disaster waiting to happen.

Get well soon that man.

I read about that - That was awful

I'm not being funny but I would say he would be better off dead than surviving with 80% burns.

80% Burns is horrific yes, I can't get over it. That would be a life full of misery for him, all those hospital oppointments and skin grafts. He's only 17 like me. Full of life.

He'll be very lucky to survive 80% burns.

i'm not sure of her name etc but there was a programme once of a small baby who had 90% burns over her body. only part which survived was the area being covered by her wet nappy.

She lost her hands and a foot in that fire but she is still here today and still being loved very much by her dad/family.

i know what point your making but i think some people would rather they lived than died. Especially that little girls dad.

If It was someone from my family I'd want them to live depending on whether they were going to be in constant pain all the time. Living in pain every single day would be horrible.

It's not the pain it's the horrific scars that will ruin his life.

I personally would rather be dead cos he will never enjoy life.

I was really just meaning if it was me rather than a friend or family member. It's all hypothetical but given the choice I would rather die than go through life with 80% burns.  That would be no life, it would just be an existance.

we do it cos we're blokes, and in my personal experience, my attitude is 'why not?' instead of 'why?'. and we rarely find the answer to 'why not?' until it hits us in the face.

That's really nasty, and makes me realise the little quibbles and worries I have in my life really are nothing and puts everything into perspective.

It is horrible to hear things like this, but serves them right. Messing around on mini motos, whats the point.

Sorry to say that's my thoughts exactly. In a way I'm just glad nobody else was seriously hurt as it would have been EVEN WORSE if somebody innocent had that sort of thing happen to them.

Not that I don't feel totally sorry for the guy though  Sad
