Can't say i agree entirely.

My best mate works and lives in germany. He gets paid £23k for working in a call centre and his rent only costs £200pm.

I for one would much rather live in europe, which is why i can't understand why they come here.

Unfortunately the UK was only one of a handful of EU countries to open up permit free work for citizens of the 8 new ascension states like Poland when they joined so they don’t really have a lot of choice in where they can work.

Arguably it did seem a bit cracked at the time as it was during the height of the immigration fervour but it has allowed industries like the hospitality industry to employ legitimate workers instead of the illegal chaps off the banana boats.

Not sure about the Turks when they eventually sign up to the EU as half the country is likely to be on it’s way if it gets the chance.

There's loads of Polish people in Southampton, more than in Swindon. Most of them are fine, in fact it's most of the locals who grew up in Southampton you need to watch out for.

The Polish are great, they largely contributed to us winning the Battle of Britain  - 147 Polish Pilots shot down 201 German planes. Polish pilot Tony Glowacki famous for being the only RAF pilot to shoot down 5 planes in one day. Respect to the Poles
