It's been done before, at this very club, back in 1994 by Rikki Hunt.
3 year season tickets were sold and you became a member of a "platinum club". One of the benefits was you got your name on the seat for 3 years to show you had chipped in. Some of the names can still be seen on seats to this day.

This is a bit different from the naming of seats as done previously at the club. The idea, or should I say the design, is the idea of a Scottish firm, who first contacted the club in May. They tell us that they are introducing the scheme at several clubs in England and Scotland. To give fans more of an idea of the style of the personalisation, the website will be updated to show a visual sometime tomorrow. I guess it will not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who do decide to take it up, it should look good, and generate some additional revenue for the club.

If it generates extra revenue then fair play! Nice to see new ideas.
