[etc., etc.]

Failure to Act Will Result In Serious Consequences.
Fan-fucking-tastic. Arrived back in Southampton to find this and my housemates don't appear to be around for the weekend. I left a cheque a couple of weeks ago for my share and my housemates told me they would sort it out. 2 of my housemates have actually gone to Malta until Tues which is even better. Just what I fucking need. What annoys me the most is that it's been stuck on the notice board, and nobody has left a note to say they have paid it so I'm guessing they have just chosen to ignore it

Wait for the bailiffs. Then you don't have to pay in cash, they can just take your things!

We always had the electric/gas etc coming round to cut us off and she was never there! Always got paid back in the end; but too annoying however nice a friend she was so moved out. Give em a good slap when they get back.

The bill is nearly £330 quid. How the fuck can I pay that? My housemate Claire got home in the early hours last night, so I'll find out what's going on later, even if she is hungover.
I think the bad point of all this is that to receive payment in full, one person is going to have to pay it, but I really doubt that anyone has that kind of cash in my house :-))(
Mind you, all of our names are on the bill, so I could ring them up and settle my part, does anyone think that would work?

doubt it, but it's worth a go. the fact it's numerous peoples names on the account has gotta count for something, plus the fact you can pay off some of the debt is another
however companies are gay

If you had managed to speak powergen before they passed it to the debt agency you probably could have sorted something out... generally they're pretty good with payment difficulties as long as you speak to them and let them know... Unfortunately my experience of the debt collectors is that they couldn't give a shit... they've already paid powergen for your debt and want only one thing - your money. I guarentee if you speak to them they'll say it's not their problem and refer all your queries back to powergen.. who, in a vicious circle couldn't give a fuck because they've already past the debt on... I've been traced from Brighton.. back to Swindon by a debt collecting agency for a debt that was owed by an old housemate.. they were the most pig-headed ignorant bastards i've ever had the misfortune to deal with... Anyway.. good luck!

Unfortunately due to a family bereavement I've not had the time to sort it out before I went home the other week, which is why under the circumstances my housemates said they would sort it. I think everyone in my house is back by wednesday so I'll phone them then and get people to pay.

Is your name on the account Pieman?
One of the things I avoided at Uni was sticking my name on any of the utility accounts as it can royally fuck with your credit rating and this sort of malarky gets pinned on you.
