Well they don't really check though. You just have to say you went to an agency twice this week or looked in the paper or applied for a job. It's actually a doddle.
I was thinking of signing on until I start my full time job end of August, but I've got too much stuff to do until then anyway now.

someone i know has been claiming jobseekers for a while and working on the sly too, its easily done.
uni confirmed my 2:2 for the 2nd year today, which means i need to increase that by 9% next year for a 2:1. i reckon i can do it considering i did no work this year.

The jobseekers people are well ace on the phone. Not only that but they'll ring me back on thursday, ask me questions over the phone and fill my form in for me. Fucking ace. It's like they want me to claim jobseekers. you do know that you have to provide regular evidence that you have been applying for jobs don't you? Well, this thread should do for his first fortnight's worth of evidence

In defence of flammableben, i believe he is not whinging about no jobs being available, just that he does not want one. As a waster at heart myself, it's something I can identify with. However, my landlord would not appreciate this argument when rent was not forthcoming. It's a crap world, really.

If the majority can get off their buts and get a job, I don't see why the rest of you can't.

Again, I reiterate my point that it's more of a don't want to than can't. Noone said can't.

i'm finding it quite difficult to get some work for the summer, not many temp positions about.
going to have to resort to warehouse work i think. my ideal would be delivery driver, i bet getting paid to drive about all day is great.

Ha, well I dont have any mates who dont work so leaves you with drink on own, go to gym, shopping? what else is there to do in the week on your own? I guess you find fun smoking weed in teh day which is fair enough!

i guess if your mates all have jobs too it could get a little boring, i'm sure theres more than take drugs/gym/shopping you could think of doing though.
i avoid smoking in the day if i've actually got some things to do, it tends to reduce productivity significantly.

If the majority can get off their buts and get a job, I don't see why the rest of you can't. if you don't need the money, there's no need to work. i've not been able to find a summer job. everything is office based and i've got no office skills, apparently.
